Foursquare Taps Kanagy to Lead Global Sales Efforts

The location intelligence software firm Foursquare has named enterprise sales veteran Josh Kanagy as its new senior vice president for global sales. Kanagy officially began working at Foursquare yesterday.

Kanagy joins Foursquare following a five-and-a-half-year stint at the enterprise software provider Sprinklr. He held several roles at Sprinkler, most recently as senior vice president of Global Enterprise Sales. Before Sprinklr, Kanagy spent nearly five years at Salesforce. His last role there was as regional VP for financial services, based in Chicago.

Kanagy will report to Foursquare President and CEO Gary Little.

A Big Job

So according to a Foursquare spokesperson, Kanagy will “be responsible for driving revenue streams, optimizing monetization, and cultivating innovation across Foursquare’s business.”

Little expressed high hopes for what Kanagy can accomplish for the company. Foursquare is a leader in helping brands use geospatial technology to make better business decisions.

“Josh is a tremendous transformational leader, with the right combination of curiosity and grit to lead our go-to-market team,” Little said. “I am thrilled to welcome him to this role and partner with such a dynamic leader as we accelerate and redefine how enterprises deploy geospatial technology and intelligence to drive positive business outcomes.”

Kanagy sees an opportunity to expand brands’ use of geospatial technology, an area where Foursquare has been a pioneer.

“I’m excited to join in on Foursquare’s mission to drive maximum value for customers while continuing to shape the state of location technology,” Kanagy said. “There’s a massive opportunity for businesses to accelerate their decision-making process through geospatial data. And I look forward to materializing these outcomes at scale.”

Foursquare was present at Localogy’s recent L24 event in Arlington, Texas. The company’s SVP of Engineering Jason Hudak sat for a chat at L24. Additionally, former Foursquare CEO David Shim spoke at the event.
